LONDON (Reuters) – Up to 200 strip poker players will compete Saturday to see who will lose their shirts — and more — and who will scoop 10,000 pounds by retaining their clothes and modesty.
Organized by Irish bookmaker Paddy Power, the inaugural World Strip Poker Championship takes place at the prestigious Cafe Royal in central London with players battling it out in games of “No Limit Texas Hold ‘em.”
“We are holding the competition because we got so much interest from our spoof April Fool this year about a strip poker competition that we thought, ‘why not? let’s do it for real,” Paddy Power’s Darren Haines told Reuters Friday.
He said players of both sexes from over 12 countries would battle it out for the “Gold Fig Leaf” trophy and the right to revel in the title of World Strip Poker Champion.
Aside from strict rules governing the poker play, Paddy Power has laid down clear guidelines on the stripping element — most importantly that each player starts the match by wearing five items of clothing supplied by the organizers.
Each contestant will be given a towel to sit on and to cover themselves when naked, but only after they have stripped completely.
“Inappropriate behavior,” will not be tolerated, said Paddy Power.

It’s always been my reasoning that a porn business should be run like any other, with regards to ethics, quality control, excellent customer service, etc. One thing in the “non-porn” shopping world that I love is loyalty/rewards points that I get for my purchases. Done correctly, it can buy me something pretty as a result from crap I would’ve bought anyway.
That said…we’ve decided to start offering Loyalty/Rewards Points for all purchases at AMVC.com. Right now they are included as cards inside your purchase, but we’re working diligently to make it electronic so our customers don’t have to keep up with a bunch of cards (or keep them hidden from prying eyes 
Once we make the points system all site-based, we’ll also be able to add points on birthdays, holidays, if we fuck up (at our discretion of course), or just because. The customers will be able to monitor their points much better and so will we.

We decided to take drastic action at AMVC.com and lower prices for all of our videos. Many of our videos are now at $14.95 and we no longer allow any of our amateur producers to price their videos above $29.95.
Our goal here was to compete with the continued increase of pay-per-view and digital downloads. Plus, we figured we should keep AMVC.com as an “amateur videos at amateur prices” type of site. We also wanted to fuck our competition and let our customers and producers reap the rewards
Just an FYI for those who might care or be interested: I am working on a blog hosting script that will allow anyone to create their own sex blog. We’ll be offering this basic service for free (with our ads on the blog, limited storage, and absolutely no tech support, but it’s very user-friendly so that shouldn’t be a problem considering this is free We’ll probably offer a paid upgrade for those who want more…but the free package should suffice for most everyone.
You’ll be able to sign up and start posting your own blog entries within a minute or so and everything is very “step-by-step” so even a newbie can figure it out We will also ask the AMVC.com producers to start their own sex blog to keep their porn fans updated on their videos, insider secrets, new releases, etc.
I’m about half done. When it’s ready, I’ll start having friends test it out to help us find any bugs I may have missed. When those are squashed, then we’ll announce here and on all of AMVC.com‘s websites…so bookmark us and check back often!
I got rid of the old blog script and got this nifty new one. I hope you guys like.
Unfortunately, we lost some of the old posts…but not because of the new script but because of the 2257 drama that’s ensued. I had some straight producer interviews, but they are no longer with the AMVC.com family (we hope they come back soon!) Therefore, I removed their interviews as they didn’t really make sense unless you could go and see their video pics and descriptions (and nowhere to link them to).
Along with the forty billion other things on my plate, I promise to get some juicy insider interviews for you as soon as humanly possible!
The priority items on my list right now are: New shopping cart system (almost done and it’s hella cool!), Streaming-Download site (our own, not a 3rd party), selling pics and clips as content to adult webmasters, and an adult blog-hosting site (first for our producers and then to the general public).
I’m also adding a “Personal” category to these blog posts. I’ve got the “General” but am not sure if that needs to exist or not.

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON (July 22, 2005) AMVC.com, an amateur video production and distribution company, today announced that it has seen an increase in VHS and DVD sales as a result of substantially lowering prices. Co-owner Allen McNulty stated, I had a theory a couple of years ago that streaming videos would overtake VHS/DVD sales. Of course today we can see that’s a no-brainer now that we have the advantage of hindsight but I wanted to test the theory further by lowering the prices on all of the films we own and asking all of our producers to voluntarily do the same. Some of the producers were not interested, but we now have a one-month statistic showing that they may want to rethink their pricing strategy. We more than doubled our revenue on our own films in just one month. Several producers experienced a substantial increase in sales, with one producer who had sold zero films in May and ended up selling 25 films in June as a result of the price drop. I realize that one month does not a statistical analysis make, McNulty adds, but I was certainly impressed and we continue to monitor how sales have changed. If it keeps up, we’re probably going to reeavaluate our site’s pricing policy. I mean, this is business and business is sales and sales are all about customer satisfaction and loyalty. The price drop certainly has covered all of these in our first test run, so it only makes sense to run with it.
Larry Flynt spoke here in Seattle on a book signing tour he was doing for "Sex, Lies, & Politics: The Naked Truth". I've always appreciated, both personally and as a pornographer, his history and success with fighting for freedom of speech rights, so I headed downtown to hear him speak.
The crowd was very plain, considering I was expecting more "seedy" characters to attend. It was just regular folks who shared the same feelings as me about Flynt's crusades. There was even a couple who brought their baby (well, I assume it was theirs 
and a couple of cute boys that I tried to impress with the fact that I produce porn
When Flynt rolled in with his HUGE bodyguard/assistant, I didn't know what to expect. I assumed he'd spend the entire time trying to get coins from us buying his book and various other items for sale off to the side, but that was not the case. Instead he spoke about various topics that are addressed in the book for about 20 minutes. It was pretty rehearsed, but I guess it would have to be wouldn't it? The thing that impressed and pleased me the most, however, was the next 45 minutes he spent answering any questions the audience had.
I say I was impressed because he had no idea what anyone would ask, therefore it certainly wasn't rehearsed. I'm sure many of the questions were ones he'd been asked a bazillion times before, but his answers were very funny, quick, sharp, and unapologetic. He was laughing most of the time and it almost felt like I'd known him longer than the hour I was there.
I'm neither shy in public, nor do I have any problems with public speaking, but for some reason I was nervous about asking a question. When Flynt called on me to ask my question, I did without hesitation. I asked "What's your opinion about the recent changes to the 2257 laws?" He got an extremely serious look on his face, after laughing and smiling so much before, and said "It's wrong and just a ploy to rattle the chains of adult companies. I think the ACLU has just filed suit against Ashcroft." Then he went on to another question.
After he spoke, we all got in line to have him sign his book that we all bought. When I approached him at the book-signing table, I shook his hand and told him I appreciated everything he's done for me and the adult entertainment community.
